Apartment 2308,

‘The Eagle’s Nest’

Välkommen!

Welcome!

Bien Venido!

The special character of 2308 and how it came about.

Initially, 2308 was a two-bedroom flat with two ‘bathrooms’,  one ‘en suite’ with the ‘master bedroom’, and a small and dark kitchen and an even smaller ‘stunning lounge’ joining the kitchen. The lounge was perfect for one or two small TV-sofas where a family with two children could sit and join TV together with grandparents or a couple of friends keen to see the same  program. In a diffuse area between kitchen and lounge one could place a smaller table for common meals for a smaller family or  couple with one or two friends. See the initial floorplan.

The present owner arrived from a country where people did not meet in non-existing pubs or in a café on his country’s  snow and icy pavements.

Since centuries their social lives were celebrated in their homes, with a large and inviting ‘living room’. And so 2308 was transformed to better suite another lifestyle.

The  two  bedrooms were dispersed of and transformed to a more spacious ‘livingroom’ and a walk-in wardrove with a window. The small and dark kitchen was moved to the large windows and made light and spacious. The old kitchen served perfectly as a sleep cabin.

You  can get an idea of this transformation from the  two floorplans.

To the left is the original floor plan. To the right is the new floorplan. The blue lines show the new walls. The green lines show the way the doors are hanged. Notice that of the six doors in the hall and corridor three are doors with glass areas which gives more light to the hall and the corridor into the salon.

Security First

This is the fire-secure front door, solid to the core with no less than three units to protect you from unwelcom visitors.

No less than six lock pistons are connected with your locking mechanism that you manage with your key and the door-handle, three on each side of the door.

Here is a close-up of one of the six lock pistons of your solid front door..

The peek hole, that you see on top of this page, gives you a first impression of who’s knocking. With this simple and effective gadget you may  half-open the door to say a few words. It also gives you an easy and effective way to keep the door securily shut without having to lock it when you’re at home.

Heating The Eagle’s Nest

-The Eagle’s Nest is heated by elecctriciy provided by any of the national or local companies. In the kitchen we get heat from the under-floor heating, with a little regulator on the wall. In the hall and in the living room heat is provided by thin Swedish stone elements with thermostats which make them easily adapted to external temperature variations.

In the shower room there is also an under-floor-heat installed.

In case it would some days be exceedingly cold, thee are two additional conventional heat devices on standby which could easily be plugged into a wall for more comfort.
